What a brutally super long day. Lost work phone, thing just literally vanished from my hands...will explain later. Have to get up and do it all again tomorrow.
Good health really matters as you age, cause without your health, you're doomed as a older person.
And I can't stand older men, males, who don't take care of themselves, who are a eye soar to look at. You can always tell a married man from a single older man.
Single older men usually tend to still dress like they're in college, with style. Whereas older married men, dress up like Mr Magoo...I guess being married for so long, and being loved by their wife, no matter what, just makes them forget about style and fashion.
But if I were their wife, I'd never want to lay with some older dull looking dude, husband or now husband.

Don't pass on 2 way highway unless have enough clearance to do so
Drivers like this not only risk their own lives, but they also jeopardize the safety and lives of those around them.

I can drink for 3 days and or I can work 3 long driving shifts for 3 days, and oddly enough, I feel worse after the 3 long days of driving a truck than I do with 3 days of drinking.
Why is that? Cause sitting for hours upon hours at a time, and the stress associated with driving is more harmful to my body than a few packs of beer per day.
Not only that, but when drinking, I'm active, I'm moving around, exercising my mind. Activity is health.
Driving is a job, but for sure it's not health.

You do to rest areas or truck stops, and you never ever see drivers walking around or stretching, nothing. They just park and sit, eat, and sleep, what a terrible lifestyle.

Driving for long periods of the day is not good for you. I've never seen anyone who drives for long hours per day get healthier and thinner, and more fit. I mean ever go to a rest area and go to the truck parking side? You never ever see drivers walking around outside anymore, it's sick to me to observe that. They drive all day, the stresses of driving, then they eat, to relieve the stress, and then just park and sit and or lay down in the sleeper, talk about unhealthy!!
Most won't even walk to the bathroom, and instead take a leak next to truck.
====================== Anyways, I still drive, but I don't live that otr lifestyle anymore, that's for sure.

When I first started driving, they used to call rest areas 'pickle parks', and like 'lot lizards' (women), were always there trying to get the attention of men....oh how times have changed. Now you never see that anymore, drivers have changed, no one talks, no one parties.
When I first started driving, truckers were like wild, and loved to party, loved to talk...now, they're all foreign, or old and burned out, or inner city types who lack social skills, and so forth. Rest areas are like graveyards now to me.

Starting work kind of late today, that's just when scheduled to do so. I prefer starting earlier, like around 9 am, that way I'm done early. I hate driving at night, and it's getting darker sooner now. As a driver, I hate these new ultra bright headlights, imagine getting smacked in the eyes with 1000's of bright headlights during your shift, it's not fun.
Years ago, people slept at night, now it's a 24 hour society. And years ago, drivers used unknown roads, but now, thanks to GPS, even people in cars use the same short cuts and back roads formerly only known to truck drivers.
Anyways, I have a few more minutes of rest.

The countdown continues before work, have about another 20 minutes of free time, I'll take it.
Lately, I've been scheduled to start late, as in be at facility at 12:45 pm, which means be at yard by 11:45 am, for pre-check, and other stuff that usually could or does go wrong, also time to stop at store on way to facility...or even to get fuel, if time allows..
Starting late can be a pain though, cause it just makes you day longer, cause regardless when you start, I start, I'm usually up by 8-9 am, so that's 4 hours of energy I'm burning, that I'd rather be used at work.
People who plan truck schedules don't realize that a drivers day starts long, or can start long before even log into truck logs...so if already up for 4 hours, and driving another 11 hours, not to mention detention time, you can easily have a 18 or longer hour day, with no nap.
Now that's fine if have a office or clerical job, but when driving, you can't afford to get drowsy...and cross traffic while dozing off.
Anyways, no one listens or cares, and life will always suck when others determine your schedule.

Truck companies who don't allow truckers to idle should be sued by drivers!
Heck, if leave a grape or pet in a hot car, you get arrested, yet these companies, some, don't allow trucks to idle, unless press gas or brake pedal every 3 minutes or so.
Well, what if have to sit in either hot or super cold weather, then what?
Safety my azz, I mean if a driver can't take a nap, rest, cause constantly having to reset the idle, how is that safe??
F green house emmissions! Don't put that burden on drivers, no one else gives a F, not even the rich snobs who pass these policies, yet the burden of green house emmisions should fall on drivers?
Screw that. Like anything else, whenever non trucking, blue collar types, begin to run companies, including trucking companies, they ruin it for the workers with their stupid idealism.
Let them come drive, sit in a truck, for hours without a/c or heat.

Just getting home from work, oh what a day
Oh what a day, trailer brakes ceased up while in traffic, a back road, thankfully it was a 2 lane or 4 way highway. So sat there for a while, cops came, trailer had to be towed to a Flying J, this and that, and now back home. Never carried out mission today, oh well, stuff happens beyond my control.
Home now, mood is improving much over a few days ago.
When I'm off work for days, and if I drink liquor, liqour, even very small amounts, can really twist my mood, enhance whatever mood I'm in.
If in a loving mood, I get more loving, if in a goofy mood, I get more goofy, but if annoyed, liquor makes me more annoyed... If I didn't drink beer or liquor, I think over all I'd be a much happier and healthier person...not that I'm not already healthy, but I always set myself back by drinking, when off, home, and emotionally bored. --------------------------
Anyways, home a bit early this evening, so I guess I'll make a 'to do list'... On nights that I know I must work the next day, they just never ever feel as fun.

Sorry, but if you spend weeks out on the road, your health will decline
Sorry, but road life is unhealthy life.
Amazing how I can snack all day on 'road food', then come home, open fridge, and eat real food, and my body just thanks me...the quality is like night and day.
Anything you buy from travel centers, is going to be laced with industrial chemicals, flavorings, ect, cause it's made to last or look appealing to the eyes. Nutrients in the food is secondary or 3rd or 4th priority.
But when over the road for weeks, you get lazy, heck even if just work long 10 hour plus day or night shifts, you still end up snacking on travel center or truck stop or corner store food, and none of it is good for you.

It's the minute that my work day starts, that I feel kind of dead as a person, is when I really stop mattering to self, and feel like a robot, just going through the motions.
My view, or feelings towards work, hasn't always been that way, for sure not, but I'm older now, and when older, and have less time on earth, your perspective begins to change.
It also depends on whom you're working around. Life is about relationships, not mindless labor. If, at your job, you work around vibrant people, with vibrant cheerful personalities, than how you relate to going to work will be much more positive.
