Gay roommate vs straight roommate I don't know, for me, since single (I guess most who need roommates are single). But for me, not sure, would probably have, not nessarily a gay roommate, but maybe someone who thought like one, in that not always uptight and jittery at the slightest male upon male affection, as in light flirting, wrestling, and just childhood type goofing off stuff. I mean the things me and my friends did, when younger, by some today, would be considered 'gay', but it wasn't, it was 'play'. Not sure why that has to change once older and grown. Also, not saying that all gay people are fun loving and open minded, cause many are not. In fact, many people who have same gender attraction can be just as ugly, mean, rotten, on the inside as their hetero counterparts. Orientation has nothing to do with ones character. One can be gay and friendly and one can be gay and very closed minded and dark, racist, sexist and more. I don't think personality traits have anything to do with orientation. That aside, if, as a male, had to chose another male roommate, I'd probably rather have a gay orientated type, or sissy type, or trans, or just anyone who would not freak out over the slightest pat on the shoulder. I mean why would I want some one dimenstional, bearded, petrified hetero type as a roommate?...how boring, unless such had a broad sense of humor and satirical wit. I bring this up, I guess, cause with how rent prices going up, sooner or later I'm going to have to probably get a roommate or buy a used RV and live at some RV park, or just live out of a small van, park at homeless shelter at night, while working full time during the day, could save a ton of money that way, then buy my own land eventually. More to follow as time allows. Here's more talk and chatter about 'roommates'... twylightzone.boards.net/thread/82/roomates-pros-cons?page=1

Airbnd? Two weeks ago I was at the store shopping for a bed, that's how close I came to hosting for airbnb. But it would cost me about 1 gran or so, to empty out spare room, then transform it into a room guests would want to stay in. 1. New bed (Heck, I don't even have that for myself) 2. Sheets, blankets, pillows = $150.00 or so or more. 3. Small desk, lamp = $120 or so. 4. Door knob that looks, with key = $30 bucks or so? And other stuff I'd have to get or want to, like a small fridge. I mean I'd want guests to have their own little fridge, that would be a must, for my own sanity so not rummaging through my main fridge. And maybe a used microwave and more. I mean by the time I'm done it would be a self contained room for either airbnb or permanent roommate. We're looking at me spending $1,500.oo or so for all that...would it be worth it? And once I spent all that money, would my mood still want to do any of it? But then again, I could earn all that back in less than 2 months with either a roommate or guests for airbnb. A roommate could save me over half in rent, and that would take a ton of stress off of me, but then odd other stresses, like not being able to walk around whole place naked. And with a roommate, it's hit and miss, cause you never know if you're going to get along with someone until they move in, and what if don't like them after 3 days, then what? Can't just kick them out, there are laws against just kicking someone out like that. So I don't know. I just don't know, I really wish I could just figure out a way to earn more passive income and not have to worry about it.

Once again, I'm considering a roommate
I go through this about 3 times a year. And every time I run an ad, and people respond, I back out. I usually run the ad when I'm drunk, then when sober, not interested in sharing the place.
But this time, might be different, in that job situation is wobbly, may be losing job, since refuse to sign 'face recognition' waiver...heck no! And inflation, ect.
I really don't want to work harder, at my age, I'd instead rather think of ways to save money. But a roommate? That's a big risk....anytime sharing place with another human, can be very risky.
And I never seem to get the roommate I want, and that would be someone young, cute, soxy and quiet...lol (who doesn't want that?)
Instead, it's always ugly men who respond, or trashy older females (or even younger ones up to know good)
1. If a single male, never, repeat, never get a younger attractive female roommate, or you'll regret it. a. Single younger women = men hanging around. b. They could set you up, blackmail you. c. Can be apart of a crime ring.
When it comes to a roommate, if it's to good to be true, than it probably is, or they are.
Older retired types?? Sure, but hyper boring, not soxy, but if all you want is rent paid on time, sure.
I just can't be in close proximity with anyone I don't find soxy or cute or handsome, ect.

Heterosoxual vs Gay/Lesbian?
I'd rather, as a single male, have a openly or closet cute gay guy than a older straight hetero male = hyper boring. And or a lesbian, I wouldn't mind that either...the worse that can happen is they can invite other females over...lol.
Anyways, we shall see. I think I'll create a podcast from this post.
