Pretend you're a spirit Pretend you're a spirit.
I listen to a few paranormal shows, and often here guests or hosts speak of 'spirits' or spiritual entities, as if they're their pets, who can be summoned to do their 'will' or 'bidding'.
I wonder if that's really true?
For to me, if spirits indeed do exist, not sure how much different they'd be than human politicians, in other words 'What's in it for me'?, I could imaging a spirit asking itself.
I think, know, as humans, people tend to confuse their own admiration of self or culture or nation and or ambitions with self as being the same of that which a spirit entity would have towards you, I or us, but is that true or a delusion?
-----------------------------------------
If spirit entities live forever, have been around for the ages, than to them, our lives must be that of a 'fly', in that fly's are born, live and die in all of what, a week?, referring to life cycle.
In other words to a spirit, we humans are probably here and gone in a quick cosmic snap.
I figure a spirit can see our whole life cycle all at once, from cradle to grave, from soft skinned youth to bed ridden wrinkled dried out whatever.
But are we are what we are when young, smooth, and full of life and energy, or is the true reality of what we are when old, feeble and withered?
Which one of 'us' is the spirit responding to, since spirit can see whole life cycle?
The 80 year old version of self or the 19 year old version of self?
And why would a superior spirit being be compelled to help either?
-----------------------------------------------
This idea that spirit entities adore us...who invented that concept?
And man is superior at what?, getting old and dying?
How is mans flesh really different than that of a goats?, meaning exact same life cycle, goats have to have sex, mate, in order to reproduce, the exact same as man does, as do whales, elephants, dogs and cats, even reptiles and insects...how is mans life cycle any different than theirs?, other than man assigns himself as being superior and having a soul, by publish a book that says so.
How convenient, write a book that says you're superior, have a soul, and thus it is so.
Even if there is a god, maybe we can only worship 'god' while alive, the same way our pets can only recognize us when they to are alive, but once pet dog gone, the relationship is over.
Is that how it is with man and 'God'?
Well just write some more chapters in a book that then say, if you do this or that, God the creator will give you, us, I, eternal life...hmm
What if that's just a big hoax?
A God you can only see and confirm once dead, that's kind of creepy in a way.
Dedicate whole life to a god you cannot ever see, hurt others in the name of this god, allow self to be abused, a martyr in the name of this god can never see, then when die hope that it wasn't all for 'not'?
Kind of like you can see what's behind curtain number one, but only after you're dead.
Or I'll give you this brand new car, but you have to first die.
Again, it's kind of creepy when you think about it.
I mean who doesn't want to believe that there's this 'God' who is full of unconditional love (we as humans sure don't have that, just look at history, or even current events around the planet or in your own home nation, town or city)
Humans tend to love primarily their own 'flesh', and that which is their own flesh, from a distance anyways, but the more you study history, and regional conflicts in Europe, Asia, Africa, wherever, even that's not so true, people destroy, attack, are mean to others who look exactly like them all the time.
A soldier can go out on a battle field, destroy 30 people, yet return to base, get on knees, and feel he/she was doing the bidding of 'god'....a god of what, self interest?
If anything Earth, and life on it, seems more like a cosmic lab experiment than anything orderly, different peoples, regions, languages, cultures, going back 10's of 1000's of years, every one believing they're the final generation, and that the Universe evolve around them, their family, culture and nation, yet all gone, done, and eventually wiped out by time.
Humans know nothing, they just pretend to.
